Claude Managed

Set up Claude Managed Agents for async ticket runs and project chat on Anthropic infrastructure.

Claude Managed Agents

Claude Managed Agents run async managed sessions on Anthropic infrastructure. ArxDeck launches runs from ticket automations, @mentions, task templates, scheduled tasks, and project chat when the agent has the right capabilities.

ArxDeck Helper can propose Claude Managed agent configuration through project chat. Describe the agent you need and approve proposals in the Proposals inbox. See ArxDeck Helper.

Prerequisites

RequirementWho configures
Organization API keys — ANTHROPIC_API_KEY (or platform default)Organization admin at Organization → API keys
managedAgentId and environmentId from the Anthropic consoleCreated in Anthropic before agent configuration
Optional vault IDs for external MCP serversAnthropic console + Organization → MCP servers
Linked GitHub repository for worker/ticket runsProject admin at Settings → GitHub

Provider resources (agents, environments, vaults) are created in the Anthropic console. ArxDeck stores IDs and launch settings only.

Setup & configuration

StepAction
1Create a managed agent and environment in the Anthropic console
2Connect the project repository under Settings → GitHub (required for worker/ticket runs)
3Open Settings → Agents and create or edit an agent with provider Claude Managed
4Enter managedAgentId, environmentId, and optional vaultIds
5Enable capabilities: worker (ticket runs), chat (project chat), and/or automation
6Enable ArxDeck MCP and select allowed tool groups
7Optionally attach external MCP servers — ArxDeck can auto-provision Anthropic vaults for org-registered servers at launch
8Attach the agent to workflow automations or enable Use in project chat

Your deployment administrator registers the Claude webhook URL {APP_URL}/api/agent-runs/webhooks/claude in the Anthropic console. This is operator-side configuration.

Ticket runs

Worker runs launch managed sessions against the linked repository context. Runs sync status via worker polling and optional webhooks. Terminal comments summarize outcomes when the session API exposes assistant text.

Project chat

Claude Managed chat does not stream assistant text — the managed session API exposes status only. The server polls until the session reaches a terminal state. Reload result can pick up a late terminal answer without resending your message.

External MCP

Organization-registered external MCP servers can attach to Claude Managed agents. At launch, ArxDeck may auto-provision Anthropic vault entries so the managed environment can reach allowed external tools. External tool calls are not audited inside ArxDeck.
